Nellie M. Nichols, 85 of 121 1/2 25th Ave N died today in Mercy Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fulton Chapel of Bosma Funeral Home. Burial will be in Garden Plain Cemetery, with the Rev. Leon E. Willhite of Community Congregational Church, Clinton, officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Nichols was born Aug 4, 1897, in Ashburn, Mo., to James and Molly Collivan Robertson. She married Bert Otis Nichols Nov. 16, 1917, in Moline, Ill. He died Sept. 17, 1942. She was a member of Community Congregational Church, its Women's Society and Varney Senior Citizens Center. She resided in Clinton since 1942.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Burton (Louise) Drury of Garden Plain and Camilla Weigandt, of Davenport; a son, Bert O. Nichols of Mesa, Ariz; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by two great grandchildren, three sisters and a brother.
