Violet C. Woods, 93, of Clinton, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at the Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton.

Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Violet Calla Hovey was born on December 18, 1917 in Forrest City, Iowa, the daughter of Keno and Bertha Hovey. She married Lyle H. Woods on July 16, 1947 in Clinton; he later died on September 16, 1979.

Violet worked at Swifts in Clinton for 10 years.

Violet was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and the Women of the Moose.

Violet is survived by two sons: David (Marianne) Woods of Davenport, Iowa and Bruce Woods of Fulton, Illinois; four grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter-in-law, one sister, and two brothers.

Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society.
