Clinton, Iowa - Billie Jean Davis age 77, of Clinton, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 12th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Edwin Davis, III, Connor Lee, James Hook, Dave Edfors, William Davis, Jr. and Joshua Nissen.

Billie Jean was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on November 13, 1933, the daughter of Wayne R. and Gladys Cartee Kersey. She attended Clinton Schools. She married Edwin Davis, Sr. on November 10, 1951 in DeWitt. Edwin died on October 23, 2009. Billie Jean was a homemaker who had also cared for her husband’s mother for many years. She had worked for a short time at the Sabula Speaker Factory. She enjoyed baking and cooking, being outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening, canning, knitting and crocheting.

Billie Jean is survived by four sons; Mike (Sherri) Davis, Edwin (Barbara) Davis, Jr., William Davis, Sr. and Paul (Rhonda) Davis all of Clinton; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; a brother, James (Beverly) Kersey of Massachusetts and a sister, Janice Zimmer of Clinton.
