Swansea, IL / formerly Clinton - William P. “Bill” Kennedy age 67 of Swansea, Illinois, formerly of Clinton died Friday, March 11, 2011 at Sycamore Village Assisted Living in Swansea. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 15th at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Monday at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military rites by the AMVETS.

Bill was born on January 13, 1944 in Clinton, the son of James M. and Margaret Holdgrafer Kennedy. He graduated from Clinton High School. Bill served with the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. He married Sherry Tatum on November 23, 1967 in Clinton. He was a pipefitter at Clinton Corn Processing Company, Chemplex, Case IH in Rock Island, and Kelly Springfield.

Bill is survived by a daughter Jodi (Gene) Brown of O’Fallon, IL; a son, Patrick (Michelle) Kennedy of Colona, IL; five grandchildren, Clayton, Ethan, Emmalee, Trenton and Colton; four siblings, Joan (Robert) Shanahan of Dayton, OH, Jim Kennedy of Clinton, Duane (Loyce) Kennedy of Moscow, TX and Carol (Dr. Kenneth) Carlson of Clinton and many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Edward and a sister Marian.
