Clinton, Iowa - Lynn E. “Max” Markham age 66 of Clinton died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Eagle Point Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, March 10th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery with military rites by the AMVETS.

Max was born in Oelwein, Iowa on September 25, 1944, the son of Grover and Betty Opperman Markham. He graduated from La Mont High School. Max served with the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Deborah Jones on December 21, 1979 in Clinton. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Max retired as a supervisor with Alliant Energy. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Max is survived by his wife, Deborah; his brother, Kevin (Tina Hildebrand) Markham of Strawberry Point; his mother-in-law, Jeanne Jones of Clinton; a niece and special friends, Marion and Eunice Short of Clinton and Karen Ingwersen of Fulton. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Terry and his father-in-law Edward Jones. Memorials may be made to Hearts and Hands. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
