Roberta F. (Mrs. Norwin) Petersen, 95, formerly of Calamus, died Saturday afternoon, April 2, 2011 at Davenport Lutheran Home.

Mrs. Petersen was born February 27, 1916 in Burgess, Illinois, to Edgar and Arona Mae (Reeves) Fuller and had recently celebrated her 95th birthday. Roberta was married to Norwin Petersen, February 23, 1941 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. The couple resided at rural Calamus and Walcott. She was employed at Welton School, DeWitt Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Ridgecrest Village and Iowa Trucking Company. Roberta also was a Walcott Senior Sites Manager for 18 years, retiring when she was 91 years old. Her husband preceded her in death on November 21, 1992.

She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Davenport and Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. Roberta loved making afghans for everyone in the family and anyone else she could think of. She was known for her cinnamon rolls, kringles and her little red car. Roberta also enjoyed the senior citizens and her Church. Her greatest joy and love in life was her family.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Sue Petersen, Park View; her daughter and son-in-law, Georgine and Jack Schinckel, Walcott; seven grandchildren, Debra (William) Brinkley, Donna (Todd) Goodell, Denise (John) Vastine, Dawn (Kenneth) Stone, Kevin (Amber) Petersen, Shelly (Drake) Mayerhofer and Julie (Steven) Dircks; 10 great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren and a step-great-great-grandchild; a sister, Dorothy Matson, Idaho; a daughter-in-law, Arlene Petersen, Margate, Florida.

Preceding Roberta in death in addition to her husband was her daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Reid Taylor, a son, James Petersen and a grandson-in-law, Matthew Lake as well as 14 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Davenport. The Rev. Chris Lockie officiating. Burial will be in Our Savior's Cemetery, rural Calamus. Memorials may be designated to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Petersen, Mitchell, Schuyler and Will Brinkley, Kyle and Todd Goodell, John Vastine and Kenneth Stone.
