Carole (Mrs. Herbert) Jacobsen, 75, Clinton, died early Wednesday morning, March 9, 2011 in her home.

Mrs. Jacobsen was born June 4, 1935 in Clinton, to Clyde and Ruth (Wulf) Powell. She married Herbert Jacobsen, October 18, 1952 in Clinton. The couple farmed at rural Goose Lake much of their married life. Herb preceded Carole in death on June 14, 1999.

She was a member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. Carole had a real passion for cooking.

Surviving are her children, Jim Jacobsen and his wife, Linda, Goose Lake, and Julie Seitz, Clinton; grandchildren, Joshua, Adam and Tara Jacobsen; great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Christian, Clarissa and Ian; sisters, Becky Niles, Clinton, and Ann Loots, Chicago; a sister-in-law, Marvis Powell, Andover; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Carole in death in addition to her husband, were her parents, brothers, William, Wilbur and Clyde and by sisters, Verna Gaarde and Hazel Nixon

The familiy will receive friends at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Church. The Rev. Jane Rothman will officiiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Jacobsen, Adam Jacobsen, John Sawvell, Jr., John Sawvell, Sr., Mickie Sawvell and Dale Dalton.
