Emil J. Buelow

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Clinton Lawn Cemetery for Emil J. Buelow, 94, of Clinton.
He died Tuesday in Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, Ill.
The Rev. Brian Hagglund of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until the service hour Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home in Clinton.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Rynes, Rocky and Kerry McMahon, Jeff Chapman, Ron Leeper and Lyn Powell.
He was born March 3, 1905, in Clinton, to Emil G. and Augusta Paasch Buelow. He married Elsie C. Hitchcock, Feb. 5, 1937, in LaSalle, Ill.
He attended the Clinton schools.
He had been employed with Curtis Brothers and the Iten Biscuit Co. He also worked as a brakeman and bridge builder with the Chicago and NorthWestern Railroad for 20 years and as a pipefitter with Clinton Corn Co., retiring in 1970. In the 1930s, he had been employed with the Works Progress Administration.
He was a member of the Clinton Corn Processing Co. union, the Clinton Moose Club and the American Bowling Congress League.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Garvey of Las Cruces, N.M., and Lyn Powell of Clinton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Walt Buelow of Clinton; two sisters, Esther Etnyre of Clinton, and Onie Shinn of Galesburg, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, four brothers and four sisters.
