Edward D. Hart, 83, of Albany, Illinois, formerly of Lawton, Oklahoma, died Friday, February 11, 2011 at Mercy Living Center – South, Clinton, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be 12:00pm, Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 10:00am to the service time Wednesday at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Additional services and burial will be in Lawton, Oklahoma on Saturday.
Edward Dow Hart was born on December 17, 1927 in Lovington, New Mexico, the son of Edward and Hazel (Wood) Hart. He married Kathryn Florene Rouse on November 5, 1951 at the Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico; she died March 17, 1970.
Ed was a graduate of Lovington High School and also received a Physical Education degree at the University of Colorado. He was a veteran of the United States Army Serving during the Korean Conflict.
Ed was a Union Pipefitter for Local #25 in Rock Island for over 50 years.
Ed was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, a member of Eastern Star, a member of the Lawton Masonic Lodge, a Rainbow dad, and coached Little League Football in Lawton. He loved to travel and was able to visit every state in the Union but Hawaii and Alaska. His greatest passion was his 2 daughters and his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He was a Square dancer and a card player and he will be remembered for his smile and love of life.
Ed is survived by two daughters: Brenda Hart and her husband: Terry Post of Beetown, Wisconsin; and Linda Hart and her husband Steve Stalf of Rock Island, Illinois; four grandchildren: Trinity (Dawn) Hansen, Jayson (Amanda) Kinkaid, Eddie Luckritz, and Talia Voss; seven great-grandchildren: Curtis and Kiersten Kinkaid; Alexis, Calista, and Brett Voss; and Caleb and Chloe Luckritz; and one sister: Billy Jo Withers of Anchorage, Alaska.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.
