David Ketelsen

David L. Ketelsen, 67, of Clinton died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00pm Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Eagle’s Club. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory assisted the family with the arrangements.

David Lee Ketelsen was born on December 10, 1943 in Clinton, the son of Gilbert Carl and Esther Marie (Eastin) Ketelsen. He was a Clinton High School graduate.

He was a United States Army veteran serving during Vietnam.

He was previously employed with Equistar and also Caterpillar until retiring in 1993.

He was a member of the Eagles Club and the AMVETS.

He enjoyed fishing, spending time with friends and family, bowling on the WII and his beloved Chicago Cubs and Bears.

He is survived by his fiancé Kay Gehl of Clinton; 5 children: Todd (Diane) Ketelsen of Clinton, Mike (Christy Anderson) Ketelsen of Clinton, Kristi Petersen of Clinton, Dustin Ketelsen of Clinton, and Amber Ketelsen of Clinton; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Marion Shippee of Clinton, Patricia (Adolph) Alatorre of East Moline, IL, and Karen (Raymond) Turner of Blue Grass; 3 brothers: Ronald Ketelsen of East Moline, IL, Kevin (Amy) Ketelsen of North Little Rock, AK, and Kenny (Kathi) Ketelsen of Camanche.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
