Georgia M. Fox, 89, of Camanche, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the St. Mark’s United Methodist Church with Dr. Donald Batz officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Schwarz, Michael Fox, Todd Corson, Erin Fox, Tracy Corson, and Ramond Nelson. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00am to the service time at the church. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Georgia M. Lewis was born on 12 November, 1921 in Linn Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Ruth (Penn) Lewis. She married Vern Fox on October 3, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa; he later died on September 17, 1997.

She was a 1939 graduate of Linn Grove High School. She owned and operated Fox Roller Rink from 1952-1980 with her husband Vern. She also sold Kirby Vacuum Cleaners, Slim Gyms, and Shaklee Products.

She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, cooking, playing card games, enjoying working in her yard. She was well known for her delicious pies.

She is survived by two sons: Gary (Dar) Fox of Camanche, and Larry (Sharon) Fox of Camanche; three grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and her beloved toy poodle Katie. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and a grandson.
