Clinton, Iowa - Josephine C. Shannon age 83 of Clinton, died Tuesday Feb. 15, 2011 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. A vigil servcie will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Friday Feb. 18th at the Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 to 6:30 P.M. at the church. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Following the funeral service, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be given to Clinton Humane Society or Skyline Center. Josephine was born on April 11, 1927 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Rosenbach) Herch. She married Edward Shannon on Dec. 10, 1955 in Camanche. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, magazines, and old movies.

Josephine is survived by her husband, Edward of Clinton; four children, Katherine (Laverne) Brown Hicks of Bettendorf, Eugene Shannon of Clinton, Debra (Jim) Deters of Clinton, and D.J. (Sandra) Shannon of Colona, IL; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Katie Mitchell of Oregon City, OR; a brother, Pete (Geri) Herch of Clinton; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Herch of Clinton.
