10/24/1939 - 2/9/2011Clinton, Iowa - Larry L. Struve age 71 of Clinton, died Wednesday Feb. 9, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday Feb. 12th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday 10:00 am until the service hour at the funeral home. According to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Following the funeral service a luncheon will served at the Eagle Point Park Lodge in Clinton. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
Larry was born on Oct. 24, 1939 in Clinton, the son of Harvey and Bernice (Rogers) Struve. He served in the US Army from 1962-1965 during the Vietnam Era. Larry married Janice Spalding on March 24, 1967 in Camanche, IA. He farmed his whole life and worked at Waukesha Engines in Clinton for 31 years as a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed farming and riding motorcycles.
Larry is survived by his wife, Janice of Clinton; four children, Jacqueline (Jeremy) Gilmore of Maquoketa, Daniel Struve of Kansas City, MO, Staci Lamp and Gordon Struve both of Clinton; three grandsons, Logan, Brandon, and Tyler; and a sister, Sue (Ron) Johnston of Savanna, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Brent, and two brothers.
