WILLIAM "BILL" CRIGGER - 61
12/8/1949 - 1/11/2011FULTON, ILLINOIS - William “Bill” or “Billy Joe” Crigger age 61 of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday Jan. 11, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, Jan. 15th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday 4 – 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Baylor Crigger, Brady Crigger, Eric and Joe Soenksen, Randy Vawter, Ted Dann, and Steve Carver. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Bill was born on Dec. 8, 1949 in Switchback, WV, the son of William L. and Joyce Louise (Simpkins) Crigger. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1968 and received his AA Degree from Clinton Community College. He married Billie McChane Edens on May 10, 1996 in Clinton. Bill worked at A.D.M. in Clinton as a supervisor in the sugar house for over 35 years; retiring in 2010. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton. Bill enjoyed hunting, especially the annual hunting trip with his friends to northeast Iowa on the Yellow River. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, and attending Denver Broncos games.
Bill is survived by his wife, Billie of Fulton; two sons, Troy (Sara) Crigger of Camanche and Chad (Janet) Crigger of Coralville, IA; a stepson, David Edens of Clinton; two step daughters, Christy (Josh) Stearns of Port Byron, IL and Sundie (Steve) Zook of Clinton; eight grandchildren, Jensen, Baylor, and Emerson Crigger, Charlie Crigger, Kaylie and Emily Stearns, Raelee and Boston Zook; his mother, Joyce “Lou” Crigger of Clinton; a sister, Julia (Tom) Soenksen of Clinton; and a brother, Jeff (Tracie) Crigger of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
