Clinton - Margaret R. Shumake age 84 of Clinton died Monday, October 4, 2010 at her home. Visitation will be from 5: 00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Pape Funeral Home. A private burial will be held on Saturday at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Margaret was born in Chicago on July 28, 1926, the daughter of John and Pearl Gile. She was raised by Margaret Miller-Kolarik from the time she was 8 years old. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1945. Margaret married Robert H. Shumake on June 15, 1945 in Clinton. She was a home maker and seamstress. She enjoyed quilting, painting figurines, traveling, camping, reading and spending time on their house boat.

Margaret is survived by her husband Robert; three children; Sheryl Ringen of Denver, Iowa, Judy Ehresmann of Olympia, WA and Robert E. (Christine) Shumake of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie (Le Roy) Rockrohr of Boise, ID and Carol (Gary) Olson of Bryant and a brother, Edison Wainwright Miller of Irvine, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant grand daughter, a step grandson, a son-in-law and a brother. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the Clinton Humane Society.
