Amos Gordon

Amos F. Gordon, 90, of Clinton, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at Crestridge Nursing Facility in Maquoketa. There will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Amos(Bob) was born May 22, 1920 to Perley Gordon and Mabel (Leclair) Gordon in Pembroke, New Hampshire. He married Marion Merrill on September 22, 1945 in Goffstown, New Hampshire.

He was employed as a woodcutter, lumber surveyor, and spray painter. He retired from Foster Grant Co. inc. as a receiving clerk in June 1980 in Leominster, Massachusetts. He loved bowling.

He was a veteran of World War II and was a life member of the Camanche VFW Post #9664, Camanche American Legion #0734, and the AMVETS post #28.

Amos is survived by his wife and one son Donald Gordon, Sr. of Clinton; two sisters: Doris Ducharme of Concord, New Hampshire and Betty Lou Gordon of Manchester, New Hampshire; one brother: Robert Gordon of Goffstown, New Hampshire; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by two sons: William and James Gordon; two brothers; and eight sisters.

Memorial may be made to his family.
