The Clinton Daily Herald Monday February 22, 1904 p. 6 Yesterday afternoon at 3:30 at the home of her son, Thomas, 501 North fifth street, occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth McGrath, an aged resident of this city. Mrs. McGrath had been ailing for some time, and although expected, her death will be felt by a large number in this city. The deceased was born in Ireland Dec. 16, 1816, and thus at the time of her death had reached the advanced age of 87. She came to America in 1839 and moved to Clinton county in 1849 where she lived on a farm in Hampshire township until 1885. She then moved to Lyons, where for the last eighteen years she had made her home. Mrs. McGrath is survived by three sons, Thomas McGrath of Lyons, John McGrath of Andover, and H.J. McGrath of Donnybrook, N.D., besided one daughter, Mrs. Fred McManus of Boone. The funeral services will be held Thuesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Irenaeus church.
Clinton Morning Age; February 23, 1904 Mrs. Elizabeth McGrath passed away Sunday afternoon at the home of her son, Thomas McGrath, on North Fifth street, Lyons. Mrs. McGrath had been in poor health for several months. She was born in Ireland December 16, 1815, and was eighty-seven years of age. She came to America in 1839 and has made her home in Clinton county for more than fifty years. The last eighteen years was spent in Lyons. Mrs. McGrath is survived by three sons, Thomas McGrath of Lyons, John McGrath of Andover and H.J. McGrath of Donneybrook, North Dakota, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred McManus of Boone. The funeral will be held this morning at 9 o'clock from St. Irenaeus church.
