The Advertiser Thursday December 27, 1923 p. 10 Mrs. Anne Verstreet, aged about 88 years, died at her home southwest of DeWitt Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock after a serious illness of over a week's duration. Mrs. Verstreeet is one of the pioneers of Clinton county and her passing will be regretted by relatives and friends, who enjoyed her open-hearted hospitality and kindly acts. She is survived by one son Patrick at home, and four daughters, Mrs. Cornelius Boyle of Davenport, Mrs. Daniel Cary, living east of DeWitt, and the Misses Tessie and Nellie at home. Also eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. James McCabe of Sioux City. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
