Clinton - Millard L. “Bud” Vawter age 73 of Clinton died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Eagle Point Nursing Home. In following Bud’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. Friday, September 3rd at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service conducted by Rev. Ron Lott will begin at 4:00 P.M.

Bud was born in Twin Grove, IL on September 12, 1936, the son of Skyler and Opal Vawter. He graduated from Normal, IL High School. Bud married Frances K. Robbins on May 29, 1960, in Lincoln, IL. Bud was a meat cutter with Jewell Foods. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed hiking in the mountains, bowling and hunting.

Bud is survived by his wife, Frances; five children, Rebecca (Mark) Huebbe of Cedar rapids, Brian Vawter of Camanche, Randall (Sondria) Vawter of Cape Coral, FL, Michael (Sarah) Vawter of Clinton and Matthew Vawter of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Pauline (George) Powell of Pasadena, TX; a brother, Frank (Anne) Vawter of Greeley, CO; two half sisters, Maxine Joling of Wisconsin Rapids and Josephine Parker of Indianapolis and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters, four half brothers and a half sister. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice.
