8/28/1973 - 8/21/2010Clinton - Lisa Ann Bartels age 36 of Clinton died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 27th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Following the services cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery on Saturday at 11:30 A.M. Honorary casket bearers will be her nieces and nephews; Drew, Darron, Dolan, Benjamin, Austin, Jeff Jr, Jordan, Kyle, and Kristin.
Lisa was born in Clinton on August 28, 1973, the daughter of Bob and Janice Kirst Hake. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. Lisa attended Clinton Community Schools graduating from Lincoln High School in 1991. Lisa married Gary Bartels on July 11, 1998 at Zion Lutheran Church. Lisa was the mother to Kelsey Martin.
Lisa was employed at Data Dimension, then at Wal-Mart, talking to people while working there. She loved being with her family. Lisa enjoyed her computer, as much as her cell phone and sending text messages. We will all miss those text messages. Lisa also loved her dogs and cats.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Gary; her daughter, Kelsey at home; her parents, Bob and Janice Hake of Clinton; three brothers, Mark (Kay) Hake of Clinton, Richard (Kathryn) Hake of Overland Park, KS and Jeff (Bev) Hake of Moulton, AL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials to be made to Kelsey’s educational fund. Online condolences may be made at www.papefh.com
