7/30/1923 - 8/10/2010Clinton, Iowa - Venita N. Howson age 87 of Clinton died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Genesis West Hospital in Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 13th at the Pape Funeral Home. The Rev. Jennifer Henry will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Venita was born in Clinton on July 30, 1923, the daughter of August and Nancy Hagge Suehl. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1940 and attended Scovill Business School. Venita married William E. Howson on December 30, 1950 in Davenport. William died on July 31, 1999. Ventia worked in the accounting department at Clinton Corn Processing Company and later as a home typist for Nielsen Clearing House and P. F. C. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Eastern Star.
Venita is survived by her daughter, Nancy Howson of Clinton; a sister, Velma Suehl of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant sister. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, St. John Lutheran Church or the Alverno Memory Care.
