11/18/1929 - 7/23/2010Clinton - Donald E. Fisher age 80 of Clinton died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 27th at the Pape Funeral Home. Cremation rites will follow.
Don was born in Davenport, Iowa on November 18, 1929, the son of Virgil and Kathrine Rayburn Fisher. Don was educated in Davenport schools. He married Joyce M. Miller in January of 1963 in Morrison. Joyce died on October 17, 1997. Don was a union construction worker for over 30 years. He later was employed as a custodian for over 15 years with the Clinton Community School System. Don enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the Clinton baseball games, going to Maude’s for breakfast, and Westerns on the Western Channel.
Don is survived by a son; Donald B. (Nancy) Fisher of Clinton; two brothers, Ron (Marty) Fisher of Clinton and Jim (Kim) Fisher of Camanche; two sisters, Helen Cronk of Camanche and Marilyn (Vern) Stidham of Rock Island; a brother-in-law, Sonny McFate of LeClaire; several nieces and nephews and two special care givers, Jean Emmert and Jane Reinhart. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Gary Bailey who he raised as his own; a brother, Virgil, Jr. a sister Sandy and his grand dog, Oreo.
