Earlean James, 84, of Clinton, passed away July 26, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel with the Pastor Lionel Davis officiating. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Home – South Chapel.

Earlean was born November 20, 1925, in Mississippi, the daughter of Joseph and Ella (Harrison) Dunn. She graduated from high school. Earlean married G. V. James, Sr., on May 29, 1947, in Parken, Arkansas. She worked in domestic work at the Wilson Bldg and Harbor Crest. Earlean attended 2nd Baptist Church, was a member of Eastern Star and enjoyed cooking, going for walks and dining out.

Earlean is survived by 3 daughters, Joella Philpott, Fayetteville, GA; Almeta Ammons, Clinton; Bertha (Jesse) Guidry, Clinton; 2 sons, G. V. James, Jr., Tucson, AZ; Rufus James, Hollywood, CA; 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 special sister-in-laws, Letha James, Clinton, Gloria Dunn, Toledo, OH, and special friend, Clemmie Hightower, Clinton; Earlean is preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, 5 brothers, 1 daughter and her husband. Memorials can be made to the family.
