Meryl Josephine Minor
(February 11, 1923 - July 8, 2010)

Meryl J. Minor, 87, Calamus, died on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Wheatland Manor, where she had resided for the past eight years.

Meryl was born February 11, 1923 in Calamus, the daughter of Guy and Anna (Huebbe) Minor.

She graduated from Calamus High School and attended Mt. St. Clare. She had been a country school teacher for one year. Meryl retired from Iowa Mutual Insurance Company, DeWitt after she had worked over 40 years as a secretary. Meryl was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Calamus where she had been a Sunday School teacher and Church Secretary.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Jane Minor, Calamus and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Harold and Warren and her sister-in-law, Madge.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 13 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Calamus. Rev. Tim Frasher will officiate.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus. Pallbearers will be Richard G. Minor, Carl Minor, Larry Minor, Wayne Minor, Doug Minor, Al Littrel and Joe Torres.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound.

Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Wheatland Manor or Alzheimers Fund.
