Clinton - Edna M. Yeager age 87 of Clinton died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 22nd at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be family and friends of Edna.

Edna was born in Galesburg, IL on June 28, 1922, the daughter of Chester A. and Minnie (Axcell) Bates. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1940. She married Merle B. Yeager on June 5, 1943 in Temple, TX. Merle died on March 26, 2009. Edna was a member of Lyons United Methodist Church where she served as the church organist and taught Sunday school for many years.

Edna is survived by two sons; David (Gwen) Yeager of Columbia City, IN and Danny Yeager of College Station, TX; a daughter, Diane Yeager of Independence, IA; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a sister, Helen Mowatt of Biloxi, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters, Kathryn Jesson and Lois Dixon. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
