Alan J. Geronzin, 52, of Clinton died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4:00 pm Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Eagles Club in Clinton. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory assisted the family with the arrangements.

Alan John Geronzin was born on February 13, 1958 in Clinton, the son of Manuel and Wilma (Webb) Geronzin. He was a 1976 Clinton High School graduate. He married Deborah Calsyn on July 1, 1989 in Clinton.

He was a United States Army veteran, and was very proud of his service to his country.

He was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, and just being on the river. He was a Chicago Cubs fan. He loved walking his dog Maggie. His favorite times were those spent with his son Eric, family, and watching his many nieces and nephews sports games.

He is survived by his son Eric (Katie Malmstrom) Geronzin of Albany, IL; 5 siblings: James (Carol) Geronzin of Maquoketa, IA, Sharon (Jim) Lee of Fort Dodge, IA, William (Debi) Geronzin of Clinton, Karolyn Geronzin of Clinton, and David (Ann) Geronzin of Clinton; special friends: Jeannie Pessman-Matzen and Johnny Luther, both of Clinton, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert.
