James Ira Kuehn

Jim Kuehn, 75, DeWitt, died Wednesday afternoon, May 12, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
James Ira Kuehn was born August 17, 1934 in Clinton, Iowa, to Ira and Mary (Judge) Kuehn. Jim was a graduate of DeWitt High School. He served in the Army during the Korean Era, from 1954 until 1956 in the European Theater. Jim married Beverly Brinkman, February 18, 1958 in Davenport. He farmed for many years at rural DeWitt.

Surviving are children and their spouses, Becky and Russel Townsend, DeWitt, Shelley and Mark Wieck, Calamaus, and Jim and Jennifer Kuehn, Underwood, Iowa; grandchildren, Brad (Bree) Townsend, Orlando, Florida, Mark Townsend, DeWitt, Tabitha Kuehn and Samantha Kuehn, Underwood; a great-grandson, Noah Townsend; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Loretta Kuehn, Clive, Iowa, and Harold and Nancy Kuehn, Omaha, Nebraska; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul.

Family and friends may vist from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. The Rev. Fr. Paul Connolly will officiate with burial in the Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Child Abuse Council and St. Joseph School.
