Clinton, Iowa - Phyllis J. Anderson age 81 of Clinton, died Tuesday May 4, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday May 10th at First Baptist Church in Clinton. Visitation will be held Monday 9:30 am until the service hour at the church. Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be David Aszman, William and Sarah (Simons) Velasquez, Justin and Nathan Sagers, Eugene Babers, Heather Anderson, and Adam Pierce. Honorary pallbearer will be Andrew Aszman.

Phyllis was born on Nov. 28, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Benjamin and Ruth (Sunling) Carlson. She moved to Clinton in 1938 with her family. She graduated from Clinton High School. She married Lorin Anderson on Aug. 18, 1956 in Clinton. Phyllis was a homemaker and worked as a nurse’s aid at Jane Lamb for several years. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where her ministry was sending out cards of encouragement to all.

Phyllis is survived by her two daughters, Gayla (Anderson) Aszman and Tammy Sagers, both of Clinton; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; special friends, Connie and Apryl Schmitz of Clinton.
