(February 19, 1928 - May 3, 2010)

Evelyn Fae (Emmert) Dierickx, 82 died Monday evening, May 3, 2010 at her home in Delmar, IA. Evelyn was born February 19, 1928 in Bloomfield Township, Iowa to Wallace and Olive (Butz) Barker. She married Walter Emmert July 2, 1954. She later married Frank Dierickx on November, 9 1991. She enjoyed in early years sewing her own clothes, knitting, crocheting, spending time with her dear brother, her boys, grandkids, and her pets: dog Tanner and cats Kit & Susie. Evelyn belonged to the 20 years club at Iowa Mutual where she was an insurance underwriter for 38 years. She was a very strong-willed woman, did things her own way and loved her son Wally’s cooking. She fought a hard battle at the end and came home to die in peace with her family and pets.
Surviving are her sons, Gerald Emmert (Shirley), Calamus, Walter (Carla) Emmert, Delmar, Bill (Gwen) Delmar; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 nephews, and stepdaughters Liz Gray, St.Landry, Louisiana, Flora Mae Henry, Belvedere, IL. one brother, Robert Barker.

Preceding Evelyn in death were her parents, husbands Walter and Frank, and her granddaughter Victoria Anna Marie Emmert.

The family will receive relative and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00until7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010 at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be Chad Emmert, Shayne Emmert, Terry Emmert, Chris Hesseling, Darryl Barker and Kevin Barker.
