Paul Garrett Ellinwood, 85, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport after a car accident last November.

Visitation and funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Paul was born November 25, 1924, in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of Merritt E. and Bulah (Hollinzhead) Ellinwood.

He married Betty J. Newkirk on October 2, 1949, in Iowa. He was a truck driver and also the owner of the Henry’s Drive Inn in Clinton.

Paul enjoyed collecting model cars, fishing, loved the Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes and was a Bears fan.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Lynn Worthington of Topeka, Kansas; 1 son, Randy Ellinwood of Clinton; 4 grandchildren, Garrett Worthington, Dawn Worthington, Eric (Kristy)Worthington, and Ashley Ellinwood and; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild on the way; and 1 brother, Robert (Naoma) Ellinwood, Yakima, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sisters. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society and the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
