Charles John Schaefer, 57, of Teeds Grove passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010, in his home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Preston, Iowa. Pastor Greg Geier will be officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, from 3 to 8p.m. also at the church. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family.

Charles was born November 29, 1951 in Clinton the son of Harold and Theresa (Wagemester ) Schaefer.

He graduated from Preston High School in 1969. He served with the United States Army from 1969-1973. Charles married Margaret Delpriore, June 23, 1973 in Buffalo, NY. Charles was a truck driver with Brandenburg Drainage and A and R Transport.

Charles enjoyed boating on the river, Nascar Racing, WWE Wrestling, and Sunday/ Monday Night Football.

Survivors include, his Mother, Theresa Schaefer, of Clinton, 1 daughter Kristen ( Chad ) Miller, of Teeds Grove, 1 son, Justin Schaefer, of Teeds Grove, Megan Sanger, of Greensboro, N.C., whom he loved like a daughter, 2 sisters, Nancy ( Gene ) Burken, of Miles, Claudia ( Robert ) Kane, of Clinton, 2 brothers, Gary ( Julie ) Schaefer, of Clinton, Larry Schaefer, of Clinton, Goddaughter, Brandi Schaefer, of Clinton, and additional nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Dad.
