Rose Marie Singelmann
(August 19, 1924 - March 19, 2010)

Rose M. (Mrs. George) Singelmann, 85, Charlotte, died Friday afternoon, March 19, 2010 at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Mrs. Singelmann, the former Rose Marie Lippens was born August 19, 1924 in Port Byron, Illinois, to Peter and Julia (Lampaert) Lippens. Rose married George Singelmann March 22, 1947 in Welton. They farmed at rural Charlotte, for many years and raised their family. George preceded Rose in death April 19, 1970.

She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Petersville. Rose enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and cooking. She will be remembered by her family and others for the wonderful chocolate chip cookies and homemade pancakes as well as many other creations.

Surviving are her children, Jim Singelmann, Charlotte, Debbie Mohr and her husband, Alfred, Miles, and Darlene Mizer and fiance, Nathan Hall, Davenport; a son-in-law, Delbert Polkinghorn, Preston; grandchildren, Tammy, Lisa, Patty, Connie, Tori, Alfie, Nic, T.J., Suzy, Heather, Jacob, and Dakoda; great-grandchildren, Amber, Hillary, Ashley, Alesha, Shannon, Keaton, Hailey, Madison, Abby, Brenden, Kayden and Jesse; step-grandchildren, Jeff, Stephanie, Brittney, Greg and Paige; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Barb Lippens, DeWitt; a sister-in-law, Mabel Randolph and her husband, Melvin, Delmar.

In addition to her husband, Rose was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy, her parents, a sister, Emily Caes and brothers, Bob, John and Peter.

Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Petersville. The Rev. Scott Lemaster will preside with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, Genesis Hospice-Clinton or Westwing Place.

Pallbearers will be Alfie Mohr, Nic Singelmann, T.J., Jacob and Dakoda Mizer and Hillary Jepsen.

Special thanks to the staff of Westwing Place for the caring and kindness throughout the years. Also to granddaughter, Lisa Jepsen for the wonderful care provided to Rose through Genesis Hospice of Clinton.
