Thomson, Ill. — THOMSON, Ill. — Carol Ann Finch, age 73, of Thomson, IL, died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 1st, at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Thursday. Burial will be in Lusk Cemetery, Albany, IL. Casket bearers will be Robert Lutz, John Malone, Mike Malone, Robert and James Thompson and Bruce Brown.

Carol was born in Hale, Iowa, on January 4, 1937, the daughter of Hubert and Anna Mae Madsen Foster. She attended Lyons schools and graduated from Clinton High School in 1955. Carol married Larry R. Finch on April 11, 1969, in Morrison. Larry died April 10, 2009. Carol retired from Quality Control at Rock Tenn in 2002. She loved Christmas time, collecting beanie babies and spending time with her grandchildren. Carol and her husband were well known for raising coon dogs and competing in field trials. She enjoyed musicals and listening to Elvis Presley.

Carol is survived by seven children, Brian (Mary) Gruver of Davenport, Bruce Gruver of Clinton, Chuck (Cathy) Gruver of Savanna, Laura (Robert) Evans of Camanche, Sue (Mark) Lamb of Bradenton, FL, Shelia (Kevin) Fargo of Noblesville, IN, and Shannon (Carl) Spradlin of Davis, IL; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Gail Thompson of Davenport; and a brother, Thomas Foster of Clinton.
