CLINTON — Mary Dunlavy, age 85, of Clinton, died Sunday March 28, 2010, at the Avonlea Cottage, in Milan. A funeral liturgy outside of Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 3rd, at Sacred Heart Church in Clinton. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Pape Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Richard Rojas, Joe Powelka, Phil Carden, Kelly Chandler, Lucas Powelka and Mark Ford.

Mary was born in Manchester, Iowa, on October 8, 1924, the daughter of John J. and Augusta M. Meier Corkill. Mary attended Clinton schools. She married Francis W. Dunlavy on July 14, 1943, in Clinton. Francis died on June 4, 2008. Mary had worked at Allen’s Tea Room, Mercy Hospital and The Alverno. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Loyal Order of Moose. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling and reading.

Mary is survived by a son, Donald (Debra) Dunlavy of Clinton; three daughters, Diane (Joseph) Powelka of Sun Prairie, WI, Mary (Jerry) Maniccia of Milan and Maureen Rojas of Clinton; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, William, a grandson, Alberto, three brothers and a sister.
