CLINTON — FULTON, Ill. — Thomas L. Cox, age 87, of Fulton, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Clinton.

Thomas was born August 27, 1925, in McClauslen, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Hannah (Hansen) Cox. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Katherine Stuttler on January 27, 1942. He was a businessman in Fulton for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Cox of Fulton, IL; one daughter, Celia (Clyde) Huling of Fulton, IL; four sons, Thomas (Linda) Cox of Bellevue, IA, Larry (Peggy) Cox of Morrison, IL, Craig Cox of Davenport, IA, and Howard (Cindy) Cox of Clinton, IA; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Mark; his parents; three brothers, Carl Jepson, Andrew Jepson, and Jasper Jepson; and three sisters, Mabel Bush, Helen Bownes, and Mamie Jones.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Scott Stephen of the Second Reformed Church in Fulton officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 18, 2010, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will take place at a later date at Fulton Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his memory.
