CLINTON — FULTON, Ill. — Donald W. Deelsnyder, 89, of Fulton, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, IL.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 15, at the Fulton Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Edie Lenz, Pastor of First Reformed Church in Fulton, IL, officiated. Interment was at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL with graveside military funeral honors. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.

Donald was born January 28, 1921, in Clinton, IA, to William and Josephine (Pessman) Deelsnyder. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and attended Fulton High School in Fulton, IL.

He married Marie B. Foster on April 10, 1946, in Morrison, IL; she survives.

Don was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army.

He was employed by the former I. E. DuPont Company in Clinton, IA for 30 years retiring in 1979. Don was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton, IL and the American Legion Fulton Post #402. Don enjoyed bicycle riding, repairing lawn mowers and bicycles, and morning coffee fellowship with friends.

Survivors included his wife, Marie; one brother, Allen (Della Mae) Deelsnyder, Fulton, IL; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Sadie Deelsnyder, Fulton, IL, and Mrs. Luella Deelsnyder, Clinton, IA.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene Deelsnyder in infancy and Verna Grage; and two brothers, Robert and Willard Deelsnyder.
