CLINTON — CLINTON — On this day, March 4, 2010, her beloved husband, our PaPa, met her at the gates of heaven, hand held out to her, to hold her forever.

Elsie Mae Robbins, 79 of Clinton, quietly passed away at the Mercy Living Center surrounded by loved ones. Elsie was born in Clinton, Iowa to Hans and Mathilda Lass Hinz on September 13, 1930.

Visitation will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, 219 First Avenue, from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010. Celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Citadel with Capt. Martin Theis officiating. Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be grandsons Ed Bousman Jr., Shawn Smith, Hans Robbins Jr., Michael Robbins, adopted son, Jim Brockett and friend, Jan Brockett. Honorary casket bearers will be grandsons Joshua Robbins, Joe Robbins, Jr., Brendon Robbins; sons Joseph Robbins, Hans Robbins; son-in-laws Ed Bousman, Bill Anderson, Don Smith.

She married Charles Brockett, Ralph Burmester and then on May 10, 1961, the love of her life Adam Robbins. She was a homemaker. She loved to sing and dance with her husband. She was a caring and loving person who would help and care for everyone. If there ever was anyone hungry she was the best cook there was.

She is survived by her children Sandra (Ed) Bousman, Camanche; Lelia (Donald) Smith, Clinton; Kenneth (Karen) Burmester, Clinton; Joseph Robbins, Arkansas; MaDonna (Bill) Anderson, Arkansas; Hans (Rachel) Robbins, Clinton; Greg (Pat) Robbins Tate, Fla.; Debbie (Larry) Carlton, Davenport; Steve Robbins, Clinton; Kevin (Mary) Robbins, Clinton; Donald Robbins, Iowa; Michael Robbins, Iowa; Larry Robbins, Iowa; Jim (Melba) Brockett, Clinton; brothers, Albert Gene (Bernie) Hinz; Donald (July) Hinz, Clinton; Richard (Nancy) Hinz, Muscatine; Gary Hinz, Minn.; sisters, Irene (Pat) Howes, Darlene (Mike) Jennings, Minn.; Rita Philpula; 33 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Connie and Kay Frances Burmester, grandchildren Eric Robbins, Cheyanne Robbins, adopted granddaughter, Tonia J. Varner, three sisters and two brothers.

A special thank you to her home nurse Charlene and the caregivers at the Mercy Living Center Hospice, and to her daughter’s family, Lelia, Don, Carrie, and Shawn Smith for caring for her in their home after PaPa passed. God bless you.
