Mrs. Josephine L Clancy, 73, of 2014 Roosevelt Street, died Monday evening in Mercy Hospital.he had been a patient there since Sunday, when she suffered a stroke in her home.

The body is in the Dalton Funeral Home. Funeral Arrangements are pending.

Mrs. Clancy was the widow of John Clancy, owner of the former Two John Shoe company on 2nd Street for about 30years and of the former Clancy Shoe company on Main Avenue for about 20 years.

The Clancy's were married in 1898.

Mrs' Clancy was a member of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, The Woodman's Circle, St. Irenaeus Church and the Rosary Society of St. Ireneaus.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. O.J. McDonnell of Clinton, one son, Edward J. Clancy of Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Goodall of Maquoketa and Mrs. Frank Hogan of Minneapolis, Mn;
one brother, William Hanrahan of Dewitt; six grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter(Josephine)
