DEWITT — Elizabeth M. (Mrs. Roy) Wing, 88, DeWitt, died Sunday evening, February 21, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt. She was also a resident of Amber Ridge, DeWitt for the past 5 years. Mrs. Wing, the former Elizabeth Margaret Langheim was born October 9, 1921, in Clinton to Herman and Ethel (Young) Langheim. She married Roy Wing, October 21, 1945, at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in Clinton County. Elizabeth also made candles. Her husband preceded her in death September 23, 1992. She was a longtime member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church and the ladies circle. Elizabeth enjoyed her family as much as they enjoyed her. She also enjoyed her computer and making birthday and holiday cards. She always remembered others. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Wing, Dixon, Illinois, Joan and John McDonald, DeWitt, and Judy and Joel Alleman, Davenport; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Kube, LeClaire; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Roy, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Visitation will also be from 1:00 until 2:00 at the church with a service of Christian burial held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010, in Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jane Rothman will officiate with burial to follow at Elvira Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Burken, Rick Wing, Rich Poll, Tom Matyasse, Stephen Shelly, Keith Kube, Fred Kube and Dave Jost.
