CAMANCHE — Richard E. Roggendorf, age 77, of Camanche, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 18th, at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche. Casket bearers will be Rick, Mike, Dave and Brendon Roggendorf and Jason and Nathan Bartels. Richard was born in Lyons, Iowa, on June 18, 1932, the son of Harold and Alice Johnson Roggendorf. He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Richard married Mary Ellen Kunde on November 26, 1955, in Clinton. Mary Ellen passed away on February 14, 1994. Richard was an electrician having been employed with Clinton Corn Processing Company and later with John Deere at the East Moline Foundry from where he retired in 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Richard is survived by his six children, Richard (Susan) Roggendorf II of Clinton, Debbie Bartels of Akron, OH, Mike (Patti) Roggendorf of Clinton, Dave Roggendorf of Clinton, Lynn Cloutier of Massillon, OH, and Mary Ann Eshelman of Houston, TX; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Kelly of Clinton and Carolyn Wills of Prior, OK; and a brother, Harold (Brenda) Roggendorf of Bettendorf.
