CLINTON — Albert Jones Jr., 56, of Clinton, died February 11, 2010, at the Mercy North Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Lemke Funeral Homes, North Chapel, 2304 North Second St. Visitation will be the same day at 9:00 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Sampson, James Broughton, Derrick Jones, Rodney Witherspoon and Mason Lewis. Albert was born April 30, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Albert Jones Sr. and Alice (Young). Albert went to school at Booker T. Washington in Memphis, Tennessee; he attended Clinton Community College. Albert served his country during 1973 – 1975 in the U.S. Army. He married Cindy Shieff on February 14, 2007. Albert loved to draw, read and build (woodworking). He belonged to the AMVETS. Albert had lots of friends and family and will be missed by many. Survivors include his wife, Cindy, of Clinton; 4 sons, Albert Jones III, Quartez Jones both of Memphis, Tennessee; Richard Bailey of Davenport, Iowa; Isaiah Jones of Clinton Iowa; 7 grandchildren; his father, Albert Jones Sr. of Memphis, Tennessee; 3 sisters, Sheila Jones of Clinton Iowa; Diane (George) James, of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Debra Bryant of Des Moines Iowa; 3 brothers Michael Jones of Clinton, Iowa, James Bryant of Memphis, Tennessee; Derrick Jones of Clinton Iowa; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
