Virginia Tompkins 08/08/2001 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for H. Virginia Tompkins, Clinton, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Nelson Heesch Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Tompkins died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at University Hospitals, Iowa City. She had worked in the catalog sales department at Sears, Roebuck and Co. Inc. Virginia Nason was born May 30, 1919, in Clinton. She married Walter Tompkins in 1948 in Clinton. He died in 2000. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or National Arthritis Foundation. Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Stuhlman, Foley, Ala., Karla Hansen, Pinetop, Ariz., and Cheryl Tompkins, Apache Junction, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
