Allyn Weiss 08/07/2001 CALAMUS, Iowa -- Services for Allyn L. Weiss, Calamus, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus, with military services by Calamus American Legion. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Weiss died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. He was employed as a plant manager at Witte Ready Mix, Calamus. He retired in January 2001. He also farmed the family farm with his brother, Jerry. He served 28 years on the Calamus City Council. He was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Clinton. He married Barbara Steffens in 1968 in Rock Island. During the Vietnam War, he served in the Army. Survivors include his wife, Barb; a daughter, Shelley Weiss, Wheatland; a son, Greg, Hiawatha; a grandson; his mother, Mildred Weiss, DeWitt; sisters, Norma Porth, DeWitt, Karen Kriege, Iowa City, and Joyce Boedeker, Calamus; and a brother, Jerry, DeWitt.
