CLINTON — Richard E. Eggers, 70, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Mercy Living Center, Clinton. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. Pastor Jim Machen with Church Of The Open Door, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Witt, Ted Dawson, William "Cubby" Simpson, Kevin Temperly, Meynard and Thayne Good. Richard was born August 21, 1939, in Clinton to Peter and Jeannette (Smith) Eggers. Richard graduated from Clinton High School in 1957. Richard married Barbara Huntley December 20, 1959, in Clinton. He worked for Champion/Rock Tenn as a press operator for several years. He was a member of The Church Of The Open Door, union member of United Paper Workers International, he enjoyed Ringling Brothers circus, trains and loved his grandchildren. Survivors include 2 daughters, Laurie ( Mike) Reafsnider of Clinton, Dawn (Chad) Shafer of Vernal, Utah; 3 sons, Rich (Andrea) Eggers of Clinton, Brian (Dawn) Eggers of St. Cloud, Florida, David (Heather) Eggers, of Camanche; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Ann (Earl) LaShelle Jr.Death date: Sept. 12, 2009
