CLINTON — Christy M. Roth, age 48, of Clinton, died Friday, August 28, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1st, at Prince of Peace Church. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the Prince of Peace Church. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Kevin Hoffman, Donn Holst, Mike Hughes, Craig Bergman, Wayne Larkey, Perry Springer, John Leslie, Tom Nier, Brian Finnicum, Dan "Boone" Naeve and John Lorenzen. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Christy was born in Clinton on March 19, 1961, the daughter of Henry and Gladys (Kaczinski) Wagemester. Christy graduated from Northeast High School in 1979 and had attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Christy was employed with the Iowa D.O.T. for 26 years. She married Paul Roth on September 29, 1990, at St. Boniface Church in Clinton. Christy was a very active member of the Prince of Peace Parish and School. She was a member of the parish council, had served on the school board as member and president, was the school board's representative to the parish council, a member of the Irish Boosters, served on the Pot of Blue and Gold and Irish Auction committees and was a board representative for Christian Experience Weekend (C.E.W.). Christy was also a very active member and volunteer with Make-A-Wish. She had received that organization's Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award in 2006. She enjoyed following her children's sports and ball games, playing cards, socializing, cheering on the Vikings and working on the Roth Memorial Golf Outing. As an organ donor, Christy continues to give to those in need. Christy is survived by her husband, Paul; four children, Jennifer (Damian) Teymer of Treynor, IA, Shannon Roth, Cameron Roth and Nic Roth, all of Clinton; two grandchildren, Josie Teymer and Jeanie Teymer; her mother, Gladys Wagemester of Clinton; her grandfather, Edward Kaczinski of Clinton; three sisters, Cathy (Steve) Eggers of Clinton, Cindy (Bryan) Gloeckner of Robins, IA, and Carol Walter of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Dan (Mary Beth) Wagemester of Walford, IA, and Doug (Kim) Wagemester of Cedar Rapids; and 10 nieces and 16 nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry; her grandparents, Al and Marie Wagemester, Dorothy Kaczinski; and her mother and father-in-law, Ken and Phyllis Roth. Memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Church, Prince of Peace School, Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Christy Roth Memorial Fund at the Gateway State Bank or Clinton National Bank.
