ALTOONA — Joe Jones, 64, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at his home in Altoona. He was born May 3, 1945, to Joseph and Elsie Jones in Washington, Iowa.He enjoyed golfing, tennis, bowling, softball, fishing and dancing and working on his computer and many spectator sports. Joe was very involved in farming, Jones Grain Bin Co. and farm-related businesses and he recently retired from IDED as a program coordinator of Value Added Agriculture Products and Processes Financial Assistance Program.Joe is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Nancy; his daughter, Lisa D. Stillwell and his son, Joseph Jr.; two grandchildren, Natalie and Will Stillwell; two sisters, Gwyneth Augustine and Miriam Jones Kenning. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Hillis Jones, and his mother, Elsie Belle Jones.Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2009, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Joe.Death date: Aug. 25, 2009
