HUDSON, Wis. — William Henry Peter Raun, age 61, of Hudson, WI and formerly of Clinton, Iowa, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2009, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. According to family wishes, cremation rites were accorded and a memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at St. John Lutheran Church. A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday 4-7 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL. The family requests that memorial gifts be forwarded to The Mayo Clinic, to benefit liver transplant research at: 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN, 55905. Bill was born the son of Robert H.J. and LaVonne I. (Elhers) Raun on January 2, 1948, in Clinton, IA. He graduated from Clinton High School and went on to study and play football at Iowa State University. On August 29, 2005, Bill was united in marriage to Vicky Lynn Popkin (Hamilton) in Spider Lake, WI. In June 2009, after over 30 years of working for 3M, he retired as an operations manager. Bill liked to fish, play golf, and tend to his flower and vegetable gardens. Bill is survived by his wife, Vicky of Hudson, WI; sons, Maxwell Raun of Louisville, CO, Tyler Raun of Iowa City, IA, Blake Raun of Chicago, IL, and Reid Raun of Clinton, IA; stepdaughter, Holly Popkin of Macomb, IL; stepson, Beau Popkin of Hudson, WI; sister, Carol (Bob) Brown of Odessa, FL; brothers, Paul (Crystal) Raun of East Moline, IL, and Ted Raun of Vail, CO; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Death date: Aug. 14, 2009
