CAMANCHE — Cora E. Bradour, 84, of Camanche, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Mercy Living Center North, Clinton. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Camanche with Pastor Chuck Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Watson, Christopher Watson, Nicholas Watson, Keith Jones, Steven Bradour and Clayton Stammer. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to the service time at the church. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Cora Elizabeth Scobey was born on August 24, 1924, in McCool, Mississippi, the daughter of Norman and Mildred (Alfred) Scobey. She married Harold Bradour on February 14, 1958, in Clinton; he died July 15, 1996. Cora was a hairdresser; she owned and operated Cora's Charm Corner and the Harvest Restaurant in Camanche for many years. Cora was a member of the First Baptist Church in Camanche, she volunteered at the Senior Citizen Meal Site, loved to play piano and especially enjoyed playing Scrabble with a lifelong friend of almost 50 years. She also very much enjoyed the time that she spent with family and friends. Cora is survived by three sons, David Edleman of Camanche, Iowa, Robert Bradour of Grand Mound, Iowa, and Steven (and wife, Holly) Bradour of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three daughters, Roberta Brown of Maquoketa, Iowa, Coralie Watson of Eldridge, Iowa, and Jennifer (and husband, Paul) Peterson of Lanesboro, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Harvey of Moline, Illinois, and Joyce Burmeister of Clinton, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her loving husband; her parents; and three sisters, Norma Simoens, Mildred O'Donnell, and one who died as an infant. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church.
