Phoenix - Marion M. Schrum, 83, died Feb. 3 at Arizona Heart Hospital, Phoenix. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Center Grove Cemetery, north of Elvira. She was born in Bryant on Feb. 1, 1924, to William and Agnes Matthiesen Schrum. She received a scholarship from Mount St. Clare Junior College, Clinton. She received a bachelor's degree from St. Louis University after she began teaching at Mercy Hospital in Burlington. She continued her education with a master's degree from the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., in nursing school administration and her education degree from Stanford University. She retired as academic dean of nursing at the University of Nevada at Reno. Prior to that she had been at the Villanova College of Nursing and San Francisco State. She also was dapartment chairwoman at the University of Wyoming and dean of nursing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She moved to Prescott, Ariz., in 1990. Survivors include one nephew and one niece, and seven grand-nephews. Death date: Feb. 3, 2007.
