The Clinton Herald Monday October 17, 1927 p. 8 Claus Schrum, age 68, passed away Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the rural home six miles from this city. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the late home. Deceased was born January 13, 1859 in Thielen, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He came to America in 1880 and the same year was united in marriage with Miss Carolina Hohne. Nine children were born to this inion, two children died in infancy. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children; William Schrum and Mrs. Mary Mason of Bryant, Mrs. Emma Henningsen of Dennell, Minn., Mrs. August Herrmann of this city, John, Henry and Malinda Schrum at home, sisteen grandchildren, and two sisters, residing in Germany.
